Derek Roberts, who had a fascination with all things mechanical in his early years, has incorporated this interest into a career as an Artist. He trained at Birkenhead Art School in the 1960's and completed an NDD course there, after which he was accepted to work as a car stylist with Ford Motor Company. He specialises in nostalgic scenes depicting Motor Sport and vehicles from the 50's and 60's, as well as modern subjects. He also enjoys Landscape Painting and teaches watercolour to adult groups. His paintings have been sold as limited edition prints endorsed by such legends as Sir Stirling Moss and rally ace of the 1960's, Paddy Hopkirk, and also by RAF personnel. Other commissions have involved Marine scenes for calendars etc. and numerous commissions for private clients depicting Classic Cars, Sailing Vessels, Aircraft, Steam Loco's, Trucks and Portraits.
